OH! Well, hello there! Would you like to know what I’ve been up to?
It begins with two wizards in love. One is a Slytherin and the other, a Gryffindor—they make it work and look good doing it. They decide to get married (!) and hire me (!!!) to photograph their wedding, which, spoiler alert, is going to be Harry Potter themed.
Also, it should be noted that they are two of the fittest people I know. Like, wait ‘til you see those muscles and their shirts. I will never, ever stop thinking that “Lord Swoledemort” is the funniest thing ever.
Anyway.
We were talking about engagement session options and they mentioned not really being into getting their photos taken -insert dramatic gasp!- and also mentioned that they were going on their annual HP vacation soon . . .
So I made a joke.
“Yeah, there we go! Take me with you and we’ll do you your engagement photos at Harry Potter World” Harharhar.
They agreed. -insert even more dramatic gasp!-
Is my life real?
You know what’s even better than receiving the opportunity to travel to the Wizarding World of Harry Potter and do an engagement session for one of the cutest couples you know?
Getting to do all of that AND HAVE RIDE BUDDIES.
Seriously. My husband gets sick looking at the rides and so one of the very few low points of our relationship is that I’ve had to give up my love affair with roller coasters (because, seriously, who wants to ride them alone?). BUT NOT ON THIS DAY. Nevermind that the Jurassic Park ride was closed, I FINALLY got to ride the Hogwarts castle ride and it was uhhhh-mazing!
On the photography side of things, shooting in an amusement park is definitely up there on the list of “wow, that was challenging but I’ll make it work” situations I’ve found myself in. Let’s just say hordes of people aren’t really my cup of tea.
Ok, ok, I’ll stop blathering and get to it. I couldn’t have asked for a better experience and I am so, so grateful that this is my life.
